ADMISSION PROCEDURE


  1. In compliance with the order of the Govt. of West Bengal 60% of total seats in each subject will be reserved for the students of Vidyasagar University & autonomous college(s) affiliated to the University (Category I ) and 40% seats will be for OPEN COMPETITION (Category II)
  2.  V.U. students may apply for BOTH CATEGORY I & CATEGORY II
  3. Each Applicant in each of Category I & II will have to appear for aCOMMON ENTRANCE TEST of 50 Marks.
  4. CATEGORY I : HOME UNIVERSITY (V.U.) SEATS (60%) – (Selection to be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Hons. Subject and marks obtained in the COMMON ENTRANCE TEST, 50% of Hons Percentage + 50% of marks obtained in Entrance Test).
  5. CATEGORY II: OPEN COMPETITION SEATS (40%) – Selection will be solely on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.
  6. Quota for SC/ ST/OBC will be considered as per Govt. order and the order of the affiliating University. Number of seats will be calculated and considered separately for 60% seats of Category I and 40% seats of Category II. Fraction of 0.5% or more will be rounded to the next whole number.
  7. 3% of the total seats in each category (GEN/SC/ST/OBC) will be reserved for Persons With Disability (PWD). The percentage of disability will be considered in preparing the Merit list.
  8. Questions of the Entrance Test will be of OBJECTIVE (short answer type with little explanation or MCQ) pattern; Full Marks- 50; Total no. of Questions-25& each being of 2 (two) marks, Time- One and half hour ( 1.5 Hr) . 
  9. The admission will be cancelled if a student remains absent from classes for consecutive ten days from the date of commencement of classes without any intimation to the concerned Head / College Authority and the admission fees paid will not be refunded.

  10. If any candidate shifts to another institution without intimation to the College within ten days from the date of commencement of classes, the admission fees paid will not be refunded.
  11. If a student apply to the College Authority for cancellation of his/her admission within ten days from the date of commencement of classes, ten percent (10%) of the total admission fees will be deducted as processing fee and the rest will be refunded to candidate.
