Instruction for Filling Online Application

   

Notification regarding PG Admission

Applications are being invited for admission to M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com 2018-19 in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Physics & Commerce from candidates who have passed B.A./B.Sc./B.Com (Hons) in the subjects mentioned above.

Eligibility: Students who have completed (either appeared or passed) Honours in respective subjects in 2016-17 & 2017-18 are eligible to apply. However, at the time of counseling-cum-admission, if selected, they (whose results are yet to be published) will have to show the original mark sheets of final examinations (Part-III), failing which their candidature will be rejected.
The minimum marks being considered under Category – II only:
M.A./M.Com 45% marks in respective Hons. subject (for Gen. Candidates)
40% marks in respective Hons. subject (for SC / ST/OBC/PWD Candidates)
M.Sc.: 50% marks in respective Hons. subject (for Gen. Candidates)
45% marks in respective Hons. subject (for SC / ST/OBC/PWD Candidates)
Date of submission of Admission Form (online) will commence on: 28.05.2018
 Last date of submission of Application Form (online): 13.06.2018
Instructions for Filling Online Application
General Instruction
  1. Application for Admission into PG programmes should be made online.
  2. Please keep Scanned copies of Photo and Signature in .jpg / .jpeg format (5 KB – 80 KB each) ready and proceed for online admission.
  3. Fill in all the boxes in BLOCK LETTERS. Do not leave any (*) marked box empty.
  4. Please upload Scanned copies of Photo and Signature in .jpg / .jpeg format (5 KB – 80 KB each).
  5. Please verify information before clicking the SUBMIT button.
  6. When your form is submitted successfully, click on the Payment button. To complete the application procedure pay the Application Fee of Rs. 320/- (Rupees Three hundred and Twenty only) by using Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Wallet(s) etc. through Online Payment Gateway. After successful payment, you will get a payment receipt that has to be produced at time of Counselling-cum-Admission.
  7. Now take a PRINTOUT of the filled up application form by clicking the PRINT button. Submit the PRINTOUT at the time of Counseling-cum-Admission.
  8. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY HARD COPY before the process of Counseling-cum-Admission.
  9. Application form, incomplete in any respect, is liable to be cancelled.

Selection Process

  • In compliance with the order of the Govt. of West Bengal 60% of total seats in each subject will be reserved for the students of Vidyasagar University & autonomous college(s) affiliated to the University (Category I ) and 40% seats will be for OPEN COMPETITION (Category II)
  • V.U. students may apply for both Category I & Category II
  • Each Applicant in each of Category I & II will have to appear for a COMMON ENTRANCE TEST of 50 Marks.
  • CATEGORY I : HOME UNIVERSITY (V.U.) SEATS (60%) – (Selection to be made on the basis of marks obtained in the Hons. Subject and marks obtained in the COMMON ENTRANCE TEST, 50% of Hons Marks + 50% of marks obtained in Entrance Test).
  • CATEGORY II: OPEN COMPETITION SEATS (40%) – Selection will be solely on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.
  • Quota for SC / ST / OBC will be considered as per Govt. order and the order of the affiliating University. Number of seats will be calculated and considered separately for 60% seats of Category I and 40% seats of Category II. Fraction of 0.5% or more will be rounded to the next whole number.
  • 3% of the total seats in each category (GEN/SC/ST/OBC) will be reserved for Persons With Disability (PWD). The percentage of Disability will be considered in preparing the Merit list.
  • Questions of the Entrance Test will be of OBJECTIVE (short answer type with little explanation, if required) pattern; Full Marks- 50; Total no. of Questions-25 & each being of 2 (two) marks, Time- One and half hour.

**All the applicants must appear at the Entrance Test & they have to secure the minimum marks as specified above.

**Questions of the Entrance Test will be objective pattern; Full Marks- 50; Total no. of Questions-25 & each being of 2 (two) marks, Time- One and Half hour.  

All Application should be made online. After online submission of forms, candidates must take a PRINTOUT of the Application. Step by Step Application Procedure is detailed below (Read these carefully before you proceed):


Step – I : Have these ready –

  1. Scanned Copy of Photo (Size 05-80 kB in JPG / JPEG Format)
  2. Scanned Copy of Signature (Size 05-80 kB in JPG / JPEG Format)

Step – II : Click

Your basic information will be automatically transferred to Application format.

Step - III : Choose your Subject & Application category, provide University details.

  • VU Students choose BOTH CATEGORIES - I & II or CATEGORY - I or CATEGORY - II
  • Other University Students select CATEGORY - II

Step – IV : Upload your scan copies of Photo & Signature

Step – V :Click on

Step – VI : Fill up the details carefully. Then Click on

A message would come - "Your Form has been Successfully Submitted" and you will receive an SMS

Step - VII : Please Note down your Form Number. Now take the Printout by clicking PRINT button.

Step – VIII : Click on You will be taken to the Payment Gateway in a new tab/window

Complete the process of Payment – by Debit card/ Credit card/ Net Banking (Take a Print)

 

On completion of application process Click <LOG OUT>
